Letting people be who they are
How many of you are having negative emotions because of the people around you?
Is that your boss or a colleague making you feel frustrated?
On a given day, you are spending 7 to 10 hours or more at work. This makes quite a large amount of time when you consider how much time you have in a day. The quality of the time you are spending at work then becomes important because it is defining 50% of your daily life and it is also directly affecting your personal life. Some of you are struggling to create peace of mind and have quality time at the office.
One of the issues in the office environment is negative emotions you are experiencing because of a third person. When you are working together with those people, let’s say having a meeting, managing a project, or even sitting next to them, you may feel anger, frustration, stress, or disappointment. You may even feel the same way only by hearing their names.
Feeling these negative emotions can be quite exhausting and distractive. One of the possible results of that will be a lack of motivation and decreasing performance at work. Moreover, its effects on your private life cannot be neglected.
You are experiencing these emotions and struggling in those situations because you believe that other people have to match your expectations in order for you to feel positive about those people. So you put your energy on a mission to change other people or remind them of their wrong-doings.
You can try to change other people but you have almost no control over their actions so that will consume too much energy. People will define their attitude and actions by themselves and they will only change when they want to change.
It is also true for you, there are other people believing that you have to change for them to feel better. However, you will only change when you decide to change.
What if everybody is supposed to be who they are?
Can you accept them as their current self?
Can you let them be who they are and focus on your own purpose?
It is hard work but that is the key to your freedom.

Have a great day!
